2013 Chateau Villa Bel-Air, GravesA blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Cabernet Franc, the wine is aged in 100% French oak barrels.  Château Villa Bel-Air lies 15 km south of Bordeaux, at the entrance to the village of Saint-Morillon, in the heart of the Graves appellation with its many centuries of winemaking traditions. This Italian-inspired “chartreuse” house lies in the heart of the vineyards, near to Brède château. It has been classified as a Historical Monument and is a veritable jewel of the XVIII century.
A remarkable wine inspired by its impressive historical legacy, Château Villa Bel-Air now produces a red wine and a white wine that perfectly illustrate the finesse and complexity of Graves wines. “The domaine has been subject to numerous improvements that aim to improve the quality of the vineyard and the wines produced here (…). Wine amateurs are yet to discover the excellence of this Grand Cru” (Robert Parker, 2005). ($25)
2016 Domaine Tempier Bandol Cuvee Classique Rouge - There is something about the dark, inky Mourvèdre, plus the salty sea air caressing the vines every night, that typifies classic Bandol. This wine is complete, and ready to serve cooled down a touch.  With a blend of 75% Mourvèdre, 14% Grenache, 9% Cinsault, 2% Carignan, this wine is the backbone of Domaine Tempier.  More Mourvedre La Migoua yet less than La Tourtine.  It will lay down for decades and treat you like a king.  Pick up a case or two and stash it away. ($50)
