• June Daily Drinking Club Wines

Coffee cup not included in wine club selections.  Wines are though...
This month I have some real daily's that might make you cry inside.  The sun is out, meat is on the grill (or tofu) so it's time to get serious now!!!
2014 Monte Tondo CorvinaMonte Tondo’s Corvina is redolent of pie cherries, Seville orange peel, pepper and crushed stones. Brisk and bracing on the palate, the wine shows appetizing bitter cherry skin, white pepper and citrus peel notes in a bright, vibrant Valpolicella-esque package. Bitter medicinal herbs and fine tannins work alongside brisk acidity to make this one of the most versatile and table-ready wines.  Stay away from shellfish with this wine.
2011 Fabla Old Vines Grenache - With vines that are over 40 years old this is one great deal of a wine.  This is why it makes the 'daily drinker' club.  Strong strawberry notes and a long finish.  Pretty meaty with some sweet tannins.  All sorts of grilled and red meat will pair up nicely with this wine plus try it out with a nice stew.  I know stews are not in season but you are reading this from a guy who drinks rosé in the dead of winter.
2007 Cassa de Iliana Tradicion45% Bobal, 30% Tempranillo, 25% Syrah.
Casa de Illana Tradicion is a flavorful and traditional wine with great structure and body. It is brilliant and clean with an intense cherry-garnet coloring. In the nose it boasts ripe blackberry, cherry, violets and licorice with mineral and fine wood notes. The first impression of this wine on the palate gives creamy earthy nuances and sweet tannins from the noble oak followed by a medium to long finish. This wine would pair excellently with pork, chicken and other grilled meats. Try it with a lamb-burger or even grilled salmon, it will surprise you!
I figured since most of you daily white wine people like rosé as well...
