• Thirsty Thursday Strikes Again (May 5th)

Keeping up with my thoughts of thirsty Thursday being more of a "the week is almost over" day I figured we'd try a few wines that might get us actually ready for the weekend and for that made up holiday on Sunday.
    Here we go...
2014 Chateau Roc de Levraut - Aromas of spice, cigar and aged wood. Cassis and chocolate come through on the palate, as well as pleasing soft tannins. The blend is Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon and is a palate friendly, fruit driven Bordeaux.  Truly an amazing wine for the price.
2014 Chateau Roustaing Reserve Vieilles Vignes - This is one of those wines you'd think should cost more but doesn't.  Actually, normally this wine goes for $20 but we were able to get it for only $12.    Medium to full-bodied with some serious tannins.  No oak on this gem...all soil, dark fruit and perfect balance.
2011 Chateau La Maroutine Rouge - Ruby red color. The nose is attractive with cherry and strawberry notes supported by nice toasted notes. On the palate, the attack is smooth and round with nice soft tannins leaving the place for good red fruits notes. 80/20 Merlot to Cabernet Sauvignon blend.
2014 Chateau La Maroutine Blanc - Intense, zesty nose. Good attack on the palate driven by the dynamic cut of the Sauvignon Blanc. Intense and pure citrus expression of the Sauvignon Blanc on the palate ending with and elegantly smooth finish.  80/20 blend of Sauvignon Blanc & Semillon.
