• Cantina Terlan from to Bothell on 8/17

    As a wine merchant of old world producers its my job to introduce you to regions and producer most will look over. Well...we've been tipping our toes into the northern regions of Italy so why not a little Alto Adige action?

    Cantina Terlano is a co-op producer meaning there are around 143 growers in the Terlano membership and a total of 165 ha or around 363 farmed acres. That's a lot! Here's the list of wines I'll be cracking for you all this Friday.

    2015 Terlano Pinot Bianco Vorberg Riserva - The aromatics of wild flower, pear and honey are reminiscent of Alsace. Layers of ripe pear, hazelnut, almond and smoke grace the palate and lead to a silky, creamy finish. Try with mild cheese and rich, spicy seafood. *only 4500 cases produced

    2016 Terlano Pinot Grigio - It is light straw in color with pleasant aromas of ripe melon and freshly picked MacIntosh apples. Crisp and light on the palate with lovely pineapple, Bartlett pear and apple flavors that harmoniously intermingle with orange zest and almond notes. The finish lingers with spicy tropical fruit. Pairs equally well with light seafood dinners and richer cream-based sauces.

    2015 Terlano Pinot Nero - This Pinot Noir is ruby-red in color with a delicate berry and dried fruit aroma. It has a dry medium-bodied taste, with lively acidity and a light trace of tannin. Delicious with fish dishes and many other foods.

    2017 Terlano Terlaner Classico - Light yellow with olive reflections, the aromatics first entice with hints of cardamom, white pepper and soft pink grapefruit. Persistent apricot and ripe tropical citrus fruits gracefully swirl around a focused stream of intense minerality. Fresh fennel and bright acidity define the finish of this impeccably balanced wine. Try with seafood stews, spring rolls, citrus, rosemary roasted chicken and even barbecue.

    2013 Terlano St Magdalener - This wine is ruby-red in color with violet reflexes. It has a multi-leveled bouquet, with nuances of violets underlined with gentle almond and walnut aromas. It is dry, medium-bodied, with a light trace of tannin and flavors of cherries.
