We are going pretty deep into the Italian woods this week! This producer has been on the books for over a month now and I'm pretty excited. So excited I just can't hide it!

Carpineto just celebrated their 50th birthday in 2017 and after I was able to taste some of their more rare wines...I knew you guys would want to take some of these wines down.

    Lets do this!

2015 Carpineto Dogajolo - Very fruity and intense aromas, with hints of cherry, coffee, vanilla and spice. It is full-flavored, soft on the palate, complex, and well developed.

2015 Carpineto Chianti Classico - This opens with floral aromas of violet, iris and a whiff of sunbaked earth. The straightforward palate offers wild black cherry and a hint of dark spice alongside polished tannins.

2011 Carpineto Cabernet Sauvignon Farnito - On the nose, it expresses complex yet clean aromas of black fruits, spices, licorice, vanilla, and cherry. it is full-bodied, rich, and persistent, with elegant tannins and a structured finish. Ideal to accompany grilled steaks, roasted rack of lamb, or lamb chops. It is also excellent with aged Tuscan cheeses.

2013 Carpineto Chianti Classico Riserva - Smoky aromas introduce this succulent red, with flavors of black cherry, leather, earth and tar that show concentration and play off the vibrant structure.

2012 Carpineto Vino Nobile di Montepulciano Riserva - Brilliant ruby red color with a tendency to garnet. Aromas of ethereal, extraordinarily elegant with hints of violet and wood. Dry, harmonic, fruity and velvety, with an elegant texture and long finish. Pairs well with aged cheeses and game, especially wild boar.
