• Come meet Claudio Viberti on 8/31

    Well people...the Summer is now coming to an end. Kids are going back to school next week. Soon the leafers will be coming into town to look at the trees leafs change colors. Rosé will be leaving the shelves in all the grocery stores while us real wine shops will continue to stock them. But with the change in weather comes our producers from France in Italy. This week we have Claudio Viberti from Giovanni Viberti.

    We had Claudio in the shop last year and it was a blow out. Sold every single bottle and then some!!! I don't see why this Friday will be any different seeing as it's Labor Day weekend and it's not like any of you actually leave since traffic sucks (not the band).

    So here's what Claudio will be pouring for us...

    2016 Viberti Chardonnay - Tropical fruit flavors of banana and star fruit are complemented by crisp golden apple aromas. Notes of acacia further enhance the bouquet. Produced from Estate-grown fruit, Viberti Chardonnay is vinified in stainless steel undergoing full malolactic fermentation. The wine rests in stainless steel tanks for 12 months prior to bottling unfiltered. Uncork and savor within 4-6 years.

    2016 Viberti Barbera D'Alba La Gemella - Meaning “twin,” La Gemella was created to honor the winemaker’s mother, Maria, who is a twin herself and a lover of Barbera. Expressive floral tones of wild rose, fresh berries and crushed mineral. Full-bodied layers of blueberry, licorice, and earth are perfectly balanced. A vibrancy of acid, silky tannins, and lengthy finish contribute to the outstanding quality. Aged for 1 year in tini and bottle. Will offer ideal drinking over the next 2-3 years.

    2013 Viberti Barbera D'Alba Bricco Airoli -Viberti Barbera d’Alba is a medium to full bodied red produced from 40+ year old vines. Layered with notes of ripe cherries, juicy plums, and baking spices, the wine was aged for 15-18 months in tini, and refined in bottle for an additional 4. This wine can be cellared up to 10 years in bottle.

    2015 Viberti Langhe Nebbiolo - Marked by ripe red fruit flavors, particularly cherries, and soft tannins, Viberti Nebbiolo is a fresh expression of Piedmont’s signature varietal. Vinified in stainless steel, the wine was aged for 9 months before being transferred into neutral oak barrels known as tini where it rested 2-3 months prior to bottling. An additional 3 months of bottle aging followed. Best within 3-5 years of the vintage.

    2012 Viberti Barolo DOCG Buon Padre - Viberti’s flagship Barolo is a blend of fruit from Viberti’s top vineyard sites. Buon Padre is a complex, full bodied wine that opens with notes of preserved fruit and spices, and is backed by nuances of earth, leather, and wild flowers. It is aged in tini for 36-40 months and is bottled unfiltered before further refining in bottle for 6 months. Approachable upon release, Viberti Buon Padre will only improve with time.

    2017 Viberti Moscato d'Asti - This wine exudes intense aromas of fresh grapes, peaches and white flowers. On the palate, it is delicately sweet and sparkling with balanced acidity, good complexity and a finish of fresh grapes. Preferable with all desserts, Asian food, lobster and also great on its own as an aperitif.
