• Domaine La Croix Belle in Bothell on 8/18

    Saturday the 18th at 3pm
After tasting around 30 wines by noon I was pretty much tired of tasting. Then walked in Marion with her families wines, Domaine La Croix Belle. Have the Syrah in the shop currently and while I had the rosé in the shop last year, I wasn't able to jump on the wagon this year. It sells out so damn fast cause it's around $13 and drinks like a $30 bottle.

This little estates has been around for 224 years so to say they know what they are doing is an understatement. They have around 140 h/a of grapes which in English comes out to around 308 acres.

Here's the kicker though...nothing is over $15 a bottle and the wines totally out perform!!!

2015 Croix Belle Caringole Blanc - 50/50 Chardonnay & Sauvignon Blanc. Luscious, elegant white, with loads of pear, licorice and spice flavors. Heady aroma and a plush texture.

2017 Croix Belle Chardonnay VP - This young wine is all magnificent structure. It is intense, with fruit and acidity given richness by the powerful texture and tense tannins. The dense symphony of ripe fruits is kept in check by the structure. 100% Chardonnay.

2015 Croix Belle Le Champ des Lys Blanc - This bright, festive wine is a blend of Grenache Blanc, Viognier, Sauvignon Blanc, and Chardonnay. Pale yellow in color with green highlights, it has an intense, complex nose. Notes of white fruits (peach and apricot) mingle with floral aromas, and the wine is full and harmonious in the mouth.

2015 Croix Belle Caringole Rouge - This eye for detail had delivered us some of the freshest and most compelling values of the season. The Caringole is a blend of Syrah (65%), Merlot (20%) and Carignan (15%) that is brought up in stainless steel tank. It is a vibrant red with fresh berry notes and a delicious lively palate.

2015 Croix Belle Syrah VdP - Soft and pretty on the nose with aromas of violet, cassis and sweet spices.
Big and bold on the palate displaying more of the same plus some liquorice and lingering on the finish. Lovely old-world classic Syrah that is truly representative of the regions finest wines. What else could you possibly want? This wine is made from the Syrah (also known as Shiraz) grape variety and comes from the South of France. It has aromas of sweet spices and soft red fruit and it is bolder on the palate with some liquorice flavours and a lingering finish.
