• Last Italian Tasting with Barone Ricasoli & special guest on 12/30

    December 30th at 4pm
This will be the very last Italian tasting of the year. Now some of you might think...why are we just tasting some wines from Italy? Shouldn't he be tasting Champagne or something like that? To be honest...it's my shop and I think this will fly. Kinda like how on Christmas Eve I was pouring Champagne with oatmeal cookies. Everyone was laughing until it blew their mind! Well maybe you should come down and see what I have up my sleeve this Friday?

One thing you should know about Barone Ricasoli is that their residence has been on the estate since 1141. Do you know what your family was doing in 1141? That's what I thought. Also..they are Italy's oldest winery! So you see why I am now rolling them out?!

I will have a very special guest pouring the wines for us and she'll go into great detail about every single wine we are tasting. She might be even signing the bottles for you all....

Here's the damage we'll be getting into!

2015 Castello di Brolio Toscana Bianco - Straw yellow in color; fine and elegant aromas of white flowers and peach. The excellent acidity makes this wine fresh, rich with a long lasting persistence in the mouth. The long finish enhances the mineral taste that is typical of the wines of Brolio.

2015 Chianti del Barone Ricasoli DOCG - Brilliant ruby red. Clean nose, deep with fruity notes of cherry and peach. Easy but well-balanced, easy-drinking. (daily drinker kinda wine)

2013 Brolio Chianti Classico - Intense ruby red color. Long and fragrant bouquet offering scents of small red fruit, vanilla and spicy notes. The mouth exhibits great appeal and harmony with balanced tannins. The intense persistence exalt the fresh and mineral notes typical of this wine.

2013 Brolio Chianti Classico Riserva - Intense ruby red color. The nose is delicate and elegant with spicy notes of wild berries, cherry and hints of vanilla. Palate: sweet and harmonious tannins in perfect balance with the acidity. Long aftertaste with pleasant liquorice finish.

2013 Casalferro Rosso Toscano IGT - Intense ruby red in color. The nose is powerful with balsamic eucalyptus tones and ripe red fruit aromas. The wine is elegant and sharp with soft tannins. Excellent persistence smell taste. A cru of merlot that reflects the terroir of Brolio.

So what do you think? You know what...you could probably get a cheap buzz off that stuff you get at the other stores or you could come in and learn one more thing before the New Year hits? Chances are you'll be having a nice cut of beef for dinner with friends so why not come get some solid wine and impresss them with the wine knowledge we'll be feeding you?

The chips are on the table. The balls on the court. What's is gonna be? Chips or balls?

    Santo
