• Marc de Grazia Selections w/ Katie on 9/14

Last week I had the pleasure of meeting up with Stephanie Mcfee from Marc de Grazia Selections. Katie has set up this tasting even though she wasn't able to be there but as usually...she hit the nail on the head. I loved all the wines and thought...well hell...this would make a great Friday tasting.

Here's what I picked out for you all...

2017 Massone Gavi - Straw yellow with light greenish reflections. The nose is delicate, but the persistent aroma of fruit and flowers makes it particularly elegant. Dry with a crisp acidity and a pleasant mineral flavor.

2017 Massone Barbera - Simply an amazing little Barbara that needs to be on your dinner table.

2016 Silvio Grasso Barbera D'Alba - A darker, bolder expression of Barbera d’Alba with tons of black cherry fruit, baking spice, and bright, fresh acidity. This is a delicious, versatile wine that will definitely benefit from some air so consider decanting or even some additional time in the bottle. Food Pairing Chicken cacciatore, roast pork shoulder, meat lasagna, pizza.

2011 Tenute Sella Lessona - Something new to me and you will kill for it.

2013 Podere Scopetone Brunello di Montalcino - Aromas of sunbaked soil, leather, exotic spice, violet and menthol come together on this. The taut elegant palate delivers juicy Marasca cherry, orange zest, chopped mint and star anise while fine-grained tannins and fresh acidity provide balance.
