• Meet Winemaker Leonardo Bellaccini of San Felice on June 1st

    For the third year in a row we'll be joined by Leonardo Bellaccini of San Felice. Leo is one of the most celebrated producers in all of Italy and it's a pure joy and honor to have him in the shop pouring for us on Friday the 1st. Now being that the weather is changing all the time I decided to just roll the dice and see where they fall.

    Here's what Leo will be pouring for us.

    2017 San Felice Vermentino "Perolla" - Straw yellow color with aromas of grapefruit, white flowers and cut grass. Fresh palate with a slightly citrus finish. Excellent as an aperitif, and pairs well with light pasta, rice dishes and fish.

    2015 San Felice "Perolla" Maremma Toscana IGT - Smooth and silky blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Sangiovese from the Maremma. Cherries, plums and earth notes on a fruit filled finish. Great with pork and beef.

    2015 San Felice Chianti Classico - Produced entirely from native varieties, predominantly Sangiovese with addition of Colorino and Pugnitello. It is a medium-bodied Chianti Classico with a distinguished personality and notable for its elegance. Traditional fermentation practices are employed with average-length maceration, followed by 12 months maturation in large Slovenian oak casks.

    2013 Campogiovanni Brunello di Montalcino - Earthy aromas suggesting leafy underbrush, porcini mushroom, pressed violet and charcuterie lead the nose. The full-bodied palate delivers dried Morello cherry, prune, star anise, leather and game alongside taut fine-grained tannins.

    2016 "Bell'Aja" Bolgheri Rosso - Its exibitis a bouquet redolent of wild berry preserves, lifted by mooth notes of spice. On the palate, it is beautifully balanced and delicious, with suplle, velvety tannis.
