• Summer Isn't Dead People 9/1

    Saturday the 1st at 3pm
People...Summer isn't really dead...it just feels like it cause you've been buying school supplies, school clothes, maybe a new Tesla...you know...that sorta thing. What I have planned for you this Saturday is a bit racy...kinda acidic, kinda edgy...yet...more elegant than a high-class escort.

I'm talking wines from Germany and Austria! And don't give me that...oh those are sweet wines and I don't like sweet wines. Oh really? You've tried every Riesling & Gruner known to man? Well try this on for size Mr. Cool.

2016 R&A Pfaffl Zeiseneck Grüner Veltliner - Passion fruit touches accent the yeasty top notes of this wine, lending a richer, riper aspect. The palate has a distinct yeasty tone, leavened by ample citrus freshness, lots of flavorsome texture and refreshing length.

2014 St Urbans Wiltinger Alte Reben - Fermented in stainless steel and tasted from the Magnum, the 2014 Wiltinger Alte Reben offers a lovely, clear, bright and flinty bouquet with fascinating lavender aromas. This is a typical Riesling from Wiltingen, very precise and focused on the nose. This is a very delicate, filigreed, lean and elegant Riesling of great purity and intensity. The finish reveals a nice tension and drinkability. This is a classic Saar respectively Wiltingen Riesling in the leaner and lighter style, with a finesse-full and very elegant fruit intensity.

2016 St. Urbans Hof Riesling Kabinett Piesporter Goldtröpfchen - Features orange zest notes to the green apple and dried apricot flavors, supported by fresh acidity. Pastry accents show on the richly spiced finish.

2016 St Urbans Ockfener Bockstein Spatlese - Rather austere whiffs of lemon, lime and pine on the nose of this medium-sweet Spätlese belie the fruity mélange of grapefruit and guava that awaits on the palate. It’s dainty in mouthfeel, yet buoyant and penetrating in sweet citrus, honey and melon flavors. The finish draws out dramatically, meandering on a murmur of tea tannins.

I also have a wine that I picked up before my vacation that will be poured and be tasting great!!!
