The 2014 Côte Rôtie ‘Chavarine’ is heady, evocative and savory, with tons of blue fruit and a touch of graphite with a bacon fatty suppleness that ties all the components of this 100% Syrah together. It's medium-bodied and extremely well balanced, in a word, delicious. While this could easily age another decade, it is drinking beautifully right now. Classic pairings like rack of lamb or a well-marbled rib eye come to mind; decant about an hour prior to serving, and most of all, enjoy with friends.
