Grenache, Syrah, Mourvedre and 40 year old Cinsault. Vineyard sites for this wine are situated at 8 different localities in Gigondas, each with different soil types. In these vineyards are alluvial, quaternary, stony red clay, blue clay and calcareous marly soils. The grapes are all hand picked and sorted, partly destemmed and then undergo spontaneous fermentation. Post fermentation the wine ages for 18 months, first in two large oak tuns and then in concrete tanks before bottling. A strong note of ripe blood orange defines this wine along with raspberry compote, savory herbs and a stony finish.
