This cuvée comes from vines aged between 60 and 80 years. It undergoes fermentation and a 24-month élevage in 50% new oak, and 25% each one-year and two-year oak. The nose here is dense and spicy, filled with the scents of liquorice, also with exotic fruits, and with a slightly reductive, rather matchsticky frame. The palate is textured and feels very broad, but is also tense, with a great minerally core and fine precision, carried forward by fresh acidity. This is delightful stuff - superb in fact."
