50% Garnacha, 50% Mazuelo (Carignan)

Vineyards between 10 and 40 years old from the Village of Poboleda off of Llicorella slate soils.  The varieties are vinified separately. Maceration between 15 and 20 days and fermentation in stainless steel at a controlled temperature. Aging with fine lees for 3 to 5 months in French oak barrels.  Expressive aromas of ripe red and dark fruits (cherry, blackberry liqueur, and dark forest berries), layered with mineral/graphite touches, smoky nuances, fresh flowers, and subtle sweet vanilla or toast from brief oak aging.  Full-bodied, potent, and concentrated, featuring a mix of dark forest berries, preserves, and cocoa hints.  A very long, well-balanced aftertaste with a lingering balsámic, mineral, and fruit-forward profile.  97pts- Decanter
