Made from 30 year old Pinot Noir vines grown in limestone over chalky clay, matured for 15 months in French oak barriques (25% new). The Clos du Val has a beautiful red ruby core and small red fruit on the nose; the palate is rich and powerful, with delicate and elegant tannins and a long and persistent finish. This has the structure and silkiness of a good 1er cru.
