80% Grenache, 20% Mourvèdre
The estate mansion has a long history, originating from the Middle Ages, but also Napoleon III resided in this home. The terroir is silica-limestone terraces at the base of the western foothills of the Dentelles de Montmirail, a mountain range with soils of up to 200 million years old. The vines themselves are around 80 years old. : The combination of a high percentage of Grenache, together with Mourvèdre is a very successful and flattering duo. The Grenache brings roundness, cherry, liquorice, some cocoa and silky tannins. The Mourvedre kicks in starting the mid palate with exotic spices, followed by structure and mouth-length. The terroir brings extra complexity and finesse. 14% ABV
