50% Grenache, 50% Syrah (off of 50-year-old vines)
La Font du Loup is both a famous lieu-dit, within the commune of Courthézon, and the name of the natural spring (the fountain of the wolf) in the center of the estate. Legend has it that wolves from Mount Ventoux would stop to drink here. Acquired by the Melia family in 1942, today the grand-daughter of the founder, Anne-Charlotte and her husband Laurent oversee the estate and the winemaking.
Nestled in the heart of the Rhone Valley, this vineyard is renowned for its dedication to traditional winemaking practices, resulting in wines that capture the essence of their terroir. The nose of this wine develops complex aromas of blackcurrant and ripe cherries, delivering unparalleled richness and freshness. On the palate, freshly crushed black and red fruits are complemented by subtle spices. The nose features blackcurrant, ripe cherry, and lavender. The palate is medium-bodied with silky tannins, offering flavors of black cherry liqueur, black raspberry, and spice. 14.5% ABV
