100% San Francisco (also known as Tinta Negra Mole in Maderia, Portugal, a genetic cross between País and Moscatel)

The first San Francisco cuttings were accidentally imported to Chile in the 1500s among a shipment of Pais cuttings and was eventually identified then isolated, only being planted in very small quantities.  The Portuguese cuvee name ‘Passageiro Escondido’, or ‘hidden passenger’ in English, pays homage to its fortuitous migration.  Only 1,744 bottles produced.

A rustic, juicy red, often showing ripe red berries (strawberry, cherry) and bramble fruit, with spicy notes (white pepper, sweet spice), herbal hints (dried herbs), and a touch of earthiness, balanced by fresh acidity, soft tannins, and a vibrant finish, offering great drinkability from old-vine grapes.  12.5% ABV
