Veso Bitter Citrus Aperitif

Limited release wine-based aperitif produced by Veso in Sonoma, California.   Bitter Citrus is inspired by citrusy, gentian-forward amari and bitters such as Amaro Nonino and Suze. Produced using both fresh and dried citrus peels, the addition of gentian root—a traditional bittering agent commonly used in aperitifs and digestifs—adds an earthy, familiar bitterness that amplifies the fresh citrus flavors. Botanicals include gentian root, dried bitter orange peel, and both fresh and dried grapefruit peel.  Fortified with neutral grape spirit distilled in California.  Sweetened to 175 g/l using cane sugar.  A celebration of citrus with layered notes of grapefruit marmalade, canned tangerine, and orange Curaçao fortified with aged Cognac. 18% ABV
