Gardoni Bardolino le Fontane 2022

Bardolino wine started gaining popularity in the 19th century, but the tourist trade around Lake Garda brought the region to new heights from the 1950s through the 1970s. After that, neighboring Valpolicella outshined Bardolino using the same grapes, but we prefer Bardolino's fresher style for spring/summer drinking. The Piccoli family only make Bardolino and have done so since 1600; Le Fontane is their lighter-bodied, steel-aged, crisp blend of Corvina & Rondinella, showing crunchy cherries, currants, and medicinal herbs. Great with pizza, pasta, risotto, salmon, liver, and antipasto. 

60% Corvina, 40% Rondinella.  12% ABV
