60% Corinto, 30% Nero D'Avola, 10% Alicante
This wine hails from Lipari Island (Aeolian Islands, Sicily). The Corinto Nero grape, as the name suggests, is a Greek native grape. The Corinto Nero is a very ancient grape, mentioned by Gallo in 1595, who in turn cites Pliny the Elder, who had referred to Corinto Nero as “Red Marina Grape”. Notes of dark berries, black cherry, red fruits, and spices on the nose and palate. It features a prominent volcanic minerality, Mediterranean herbs, and sometimes hints of warm earth and smoke. The wine is known for its enveloping and fresh taste with elegant, light tannins and good persistence on the finish.
