The vines for this wine were planted in 1936 (making 2011 the final picking from these historic vines).  Extended 6-to-8-week maceration to gently extract structural depth and fully resolved tannins.  Matured solely in large, neutral Slavonian and French oak casks to preserve fruit purity and soil-driven character.  Aromas of Toasted grain, damp forest floor, graphite, oak, vanilla, and a touch of eucalyptus.  The palate is firm and concentrated with dried black cherry, concentrated dried fruit, and savory minerality.  14.5% ABV
