Dievole Chianti Classico Vigna Sessina Gran Selezione 2015

Vigna di Sessina is the unique terroir chosen by Dievole, a wine producer since 1090, to create its Grand Selection. The soil rich in fossils and sandstone known as "Macigno" which gives the wine a unique elegance and freshness.  The aging process is made in untoasted 41 Hl French oak casks for a minimum of 17 months. The bottle aging lasts for at least 4 months.  

Deep ruby red, with some reviews also noting subtle garnet highlights.  On the nose, Ripe red and dark fruit notes are prominent, particularly black cherries, plums, and currants. Additional aromas include violets, spice, oak, tobacco, and earthy undertones.  Flavors of dark berries and cherry are combined with savory notes of tobacco, leather, vanilla, and a hint of wild herb.  14% ABV
