100% Barbera

A mix of old vines planted in 1945 from the Surì Disa hill, plus a 1996 parcel planted on a site originally suited for Nebbiolo da Barolo.  Aged for approximately 8 months in traditional Slavonian oak botti (barrels), followed by a minimum of 6 months of bottle aging before release.  Intense ruby red with deep purple reflections.  The nose offers elegant and complex notes of black currant, dark spiced chocolate, blackberry, and subtle hints of rose petal or baking spice.  Fresh and full-bodied with crunchy acidity, velvety yet slightly tannic structure, and deep dark fruit characteristics balanced by an artisan-cola-like spice.
