La Vedetta 'Ca Grossa' Barbaresco 2022

La Vedetta is a small producer located in Tre Stelle, one of the historic zones of Barbaresco. The "Ca' Grossa" designation (an MGA or Cru) comes from a selection of the most prized grapes, often from vines around $25-30$ years old.  Intense ruby red with soft garnet hues.  Notes of ripe red fruit (cherry, raspberry) that fade into hints of dried fruit.  Signature scents of violet, withered rose petal, and delicate spice notes of licorice, tobacco, and a balsamic undercurrent derived from the oak aging.  Brilliant acidity is well-supported and integrated. The tannins are enveloping, fine, and silky (caressing), typical of great Nebbiolo wines that favor elegance over sheer power.  The finish is long and savory, bringing back the spicy and mineral notes of the terroir.  14.5% ABV
