Aged in large French oak "botti" (large casks), consistent with the winery's historic style of long aging to develop structure. A, bricking, light-medium red color with notes of tart cherry, light cigar box, tobacco, dried fruit, sweet mushroom, and high acidity.  The 1971 vintage is regarded as one of the best of the 20th century in Piedmont, characterized by high concentration and exceptional aging potential (often performing well for 50+ years). 13.5% ABV
