Lino Maga Pavia Rosso Montebuono 2021

Undisclosed blend of Croatina, Uva Rara, Ughetta, and a touch of Barbera.

Azienda Agricola Barbacarlo has been farmed by the Maga family since 1886, on steep hillsides in the Oltrepò Pavese near Broni, Lombardy, off of a minimum of 50 year old vines.  Aged for roughly 6 to 12 months (including 7–8 months on fine lees in oak barrels).  The nose offers rich dark fruits (such as cherry and wild berries) at the front, complemented by earthy undertones, spice, and rustic character.  Drier and structured on the palate. It balances rich, dense substance with an underlying freshness and mineral-driven crunch. The tannins are firmly present but smooth.  14.5% ABV
